미국 방문 일정

MIT rejection을 끝으로 지난번 지원했던 대학원 박사과정 결과 발표가 다 끝이 났습니다.
감사하게도 몇몇 좋은 학교들에서 합격발표를 받았는데요 :)
CMU, UW, UCSD중의 한 학교로 가게 될 것 같습니다. 아직 어디로 갈 지는 못정했구요
오픈하우스 방문때문에 다음달엔 한동안 미국을 돌 것 같아요.
일정을 짜봤는데 상당히 빡빡하네요 ;;;

3/10. 인천 -> SD (샌프란 경유)

3/12. SD -> 샌프란 (이군 방문)
3/15. 샌프란 -> Seattle
3/16~3/17. UW Visit Day

Google Buzz

Google이 Google Buzz라는 새로운 SNS서비스를 시작했네요.
주로 짧은 글 위주로 소통한다는 점에서는 Twitter나 미투데이랑 비슷합니다.
언뜻 보기엔 타임라인 위주로 보이고, comment를 달 수 있다는 점에서는 두개를 섞어놓은 듯도 하군요

다만 Twitter에서의 RT라던가, 미투데이에서 comment달때 본인의 timeline에도 적어주는 등의 내용전파의 효과를 가지는 기능은 아직 없습니다.

구글답게(?) 기존의 다른 서비스를 잘 엮어놓았는데요, 피카사에 있는 사진을 바로 share한다던가, 구글 리더에서 item을 share하는 기능도 되는 것 같네요.
Twitter랑 연동해서 Twitter의 글들을 자신의 public buzz에 뿌려놓는 것도 되고, 아마 점차 다른 서비스와의 연동도 늘려가겠죠?

기본으로 구글 프로필을 메인으로 놓았는데, 그간 많이 쓰이지 않았던 구글 프로필이 버즈의 한 조각으로 들어가는 걸 보니, 구글은 참 어딘가 박혀 있던 잘 안쓰이던 서비스도 쓸모있는 조각으로 만드는데 탁월한 능력이 있다는 생각이 들었습니다.

트위터나 미투데이에서 친구를 만들 기본 Seed가 없었던 것과 달리 버즈에서는 그간 메일로 오갔던 contact나 gtalk의 친구들을 바로 follow할 수 있습니다. 다른 서비스들에 비해 조금더 "실제 아는 사이"에 기반한 서비스가 되지 않을까 싶네요.

자기가 comment 달았던 buzz에 새 comment가 달리면 gmail로 보내주는데 gmail안에서는 buzz만의 UI를 따로 갖고 가는 듯. 어떻게 보면 gmail의 일부로 기획된 서비스인듯 합니다.

여튼; 또 얼마나 열심히 쓸지는 모르겠으나, 재밌어보이는 서비스 인 것 같습니다. 전의 wave의 화려한 기능들이 혹 버즈에 녹아들어간다면 조금더 재미있는 서비스가 될 것 같아요 +_+

NIGUS님이 올려주신 Emplode스킨인데요 Arcsin Template을 사용해서 만드셨네요 +_+
차분한 느낌이 마음에 들어요 +_+;;

그간 XE 1.4.x배포를 했고, 2.0.0 개발을 시작하였(다기보다는 설계를 시작하였..)습니다.
Textyle도 1.2.x로 버전이 올라갔는데 단락 편집기가 많이 편해졌어요 :)

대학원입시는 슬슬 결과가 나오고 있습니다.
다 정해지면 올리도록 할께요 @_@

뭐 새해라고 별다른 계획이 많이 있는 것은 아니지만..

새해엔 글을 조금 더 써보려고 해요 -

글쓰는 연습을 해야할 것 같아서 ㅎㅎ.

조금 늦은 포스팅.. 인듯한데
12월 초에 아이폰을 구입하여 사용하고 있습니다.

저는 일단 만족중이에요 ㅎㅎ
열심히 여자친구와 스카이프를 하며 좋아라 하고 있지요;;

어플을 만들어보겠다는 의지는 충만한데;; 그에 맞먹는 게으름에 아직 다시 손도 못대고 있습니다. ㅎㅎ
만들어보고 싶은건 많은데; 그중에 뭘 만들면 좋으려나요 ^^;

눈오는 연휴의 마지막 날입니다.
모두 연말 잘 보내시길 :)

페퍼톤스 3집 앨범을 구입했다.
EP의 빠른 템포가 더 좋긴 하지만, 점점 정갈해(?)지는 음악을 들려주고 있는 페퍼톤스의 새앨범도 여전히 좋구나 :)

Application이 끝났다

총 9개 학교 지원을 마쳤다. 입시라는 거 힘들구나 ㅎㅎㅎ
슬슬 추천서들도 들어가는 중. 한 분은 끝내셨고,

SOP를 써보니, 대략 내가 뭘 하며 살았던가에 대한 정리가 되는 느낌.
약간씩 더 잘할 수 있지 않았을까 하는 욕심도 있지만, 쓰면서 좋은 점만 추리려고 하다보니, 그래도 열심히는 살았던 듯.

매일매일 새벽까지 남아서, 잘 써지지 않는 SOP와 Application에 목을 매고 있다보니
하고 싶은 일이 잔뜩 쌓인 것도 좋은 점인 것 같다. 다시 의욕이 생겼달까.
논문이랑 책도 좀 읽고, 프로그램도 만들고, 여자친구랑 데이트도 좀더 하고 :)

여튼 12월. 2009년도 어느덧 끝이 가까웠구나-

어느덧 11월말이네요.
이제 올 한해도 한달 밖에 안남았습니다.
저는 이런저런 일로 바삐 살고 있습니다.

원서 지원시즌 이라서 다음 달 초반까지는 쉴틈이 없을 것 같네요;
이제 2개 냈고. 7개 남았습니다. @_@;
긴장도 되고; 에세이 쓰는 일이 생각보다 큰 일이더라구요 -ㅅ-;;
밤잠을 몇주째 설쳐가며 준비한 덕으로 대강 써놓긴 했는데 영 볼 때마다 고칠 것이 생기고 아직 부족한면이 많은 것 같게만 느껴집니다;;

회사에선 열심히 XE Core개발에 매달리고 있습니다.
이달 초에 쉬운 설치를 지원하는 1.3.0을 릴리즈 했고 오늘은 1.3.1도 릴리즈 했어요:) [Link]

지난 토요일 (10/24) NHN 서현사옥 (미래에셋플레이스) 에서 XE Camp가 열렸습니다.
많은 분들이 참여해주셔서 다양한 이야기를 나눌 수 있었던 자리였는데요, 그 가운데 제가 발표했던 고급반 발표자료를 공유합니다.

XE 고급반에서는 Understanding XE라는 주제로. XE의 실행 Path를 한번 따라가보고, 그외에 자유 토론을 가졌습니다.
소규모의 인원으로 정겨운(?) 자리였다고 생각합니다. ^^

새로운 팀에서의 생활-

막상 새로 블로그를 가꾸면 글을 잘 쓰기로 다짐 했었는데;
역시 뜻대로 되지는 않습니다. 블로그의 글을 쓰는 것은 툴보다는 컨텐츠의 문제..랄까요
툴을 바꾼다고 없던 글감이 생기진 않으니... (+ 게으른 습관도 한몫 하죠!)

어쨌든 -
아시는 분은 아시겠지만 지난 달 말에 새 팀으로 옮겼습니다. 어느덧 3주가 지났네요.

그간 있던 곳은 P2P 플랫폼을 만드는 곳이었는데요.
지금은 CMD 본부에 있는 Open UI 기술팀에서 XE를 만들고 있습니다.
Core 안정화 + XE 국제화 + 잡다한 일들이 저의 주 업무가 되겠네요

취미로 하던 일을 업무시간에 할려니 살짝 어색하기도 한데요 ^^
덕분에 이전과는 조금 다른 분위기도 경험할 수 있다는 장점도 있구요
아무래도 개인적으로 애정이 많이 가는 프로젝트다 보니 열심히 일하고 있습니다.

ㅎㅎ 그럼 또 슬슬 글을 좀 써보기로 합시다 ㅠㅠ;;

Textyle로 올기면서 다시 블로그를 쓰기 시작했는데. 이번엔 좀 열심히(?) 써보려고 해요;;

요즈음은 조금 정신이 없는데요

이제 병특은 200여일. 정도 남았고.

병특이 끝나는 내년에는 회사에서 여름까지 근무하고, 유학을 가기로 마음을 정했습니다.

짬짬히 준비를 해서 시험들(GRE랑 TOEFL)은 끝내놨고, 지금은 장학금 준비기간 입니다.

돌아오는 주말에 KFAS 시험이 있어서 시험공부를 하고 있는데 6년만의 디비공부라던가 7년만의 오토마타 공부는 저를 좌절시키네요.

이외에도 회사내에서도 변화가 좀 있을 예정인데. 이건 확정이 되는대로 다시 포스팅.. :)

Textyle의 다국어 지원

Textyle은 XE를 기반으로 하고 있기 때문에, XE에서 지원하는 다국어 관련 기능을 사용할 수 있습니다.
따라서, 여러 언어로 글을 쓰는 것은 아주 간단합니다.

우선 기본 언어로 글을 쓴 뒤에, 원하는 언어로 설정을 바꾸고 글을 수정해주면 끝.

예를 들면, 현재 이 글에서 아래 언어 설정에서 영어로 바꿔보세요 - 이 글이 영어로 바뀌었나요? :)

다국어 지원은 되지만..

아무래도, 이런식으로 전체 세팅을 바꿔가며 수정하는 것 보다는 에디터에서 선택지로 주는 방식이 어떨까 싶습니다. 하나의 언어로만 사용하고 싶을 때도, 언어 설정을 바꿔버리면 여러 값으로 저장되어 원치 않게 원글은 수정이 안되고 새로운 언어코드로만 글이 들어가는 경우도 생기니까요.

이부분에 대해서는 이나무님과 얘기를 해봤고, 어떻게 바꾸는 게 좋을 지는 조금더 고민이 필요할 것 같아요 ^^;

이외에도 RSS의 언어별 지원이라던가 하는 문제도 있구요 :)

XE svn external link로 update하기

잘게 쪼개진 svn repository에 있는 자료들을 한꺼번에 받으려면?

지난번 Xpress Engine Project가 크게 Core와 작은 여러 module들로 나눠지면서 기존의 하나의 svn으로 update를 하던 분들이 귀찮음을 호소하고 있습니다.
그런 분들께선 svn external link를 사용해보세요 :)

우선 core를 svn으로 다운로드를 받습니다.

svn co http://svn.xpressengine.net/xe/sandbox/ [다운로드받을위치]

그런 후에 받아야 할 프로젝트의 위치를 확인해봅시다.
예를 들면 issuetracker를 받아야 한다면 issuetracker의 svn 주소와 받아야 할 곳을 확인합니다.

issuetracker는 http://svn.xpressengine.net/issuetracker/trunk/modules/issuetracker/ 에 issuetracker module이 있군요.
이걸 깔아놓은 XE core의 modules아래에 깔아야 겠죠?

modules로 이동한 뒤에 다음 명령을 칩시다.

svn propedit svn:externals .

external link를 처음 설정하시는 거라면 아무것도 없을텐데요
여기에
다음과 같이 넣어줍니다.

issuetracker http://svn.xpressengine.net/issuetracker/trunk/modules/issuetracker/

이런 식으로 넣어준 뒤에 저장을 하고
svn update를 해주면 modules 아래에 issuetracker를 최신 버전으로 받아오는 것을 확인 하실 수 있을꺼에요

예를 들면 제가 사용하고 있는 XE의 modules의 externals property는 아래와 같이 설정되어있습니다.

자아 그럼 이제 편하게 써보셔요 :)

Introduction to Textyle

Before talking about Textyle and Blogging, let's think of cooking. A process of cooking can be divided into 3 steps. First step is deciding which food you would cook. Second, you have to prepare ingredients for the food. Finally, you make it with prepared ingredients. A process of writing is very similar with one of cooking.
